One of the easiest salads to make while still one of the absolute best on our list!!! We always advise using two green zebra and two red zed zebra tomatoes as we think it is not only delectable but is also makes a beautiful plate. However, there are a lot of wonderful and colorful tomato varieties to use.
- 4 tomatoes: 2 green zebra and 2 red zebra vine ripe tomatoes, 1/4-inch thick slices 1 pound fresh mozzarella, 1/4-inch thick slices or as desired
- 20 leaves (about 1 bunch) fresh basil finely chopped
- Balsamic cream
- Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
- Coarse salt and pepper
Layer alternating slices of tomatoes and mozzarella on a large, shallow platter. Sprinkle the chopped basil over the tomatoes and mozzarella. Drizzle the salad with extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic cream. Lastly, season with salt and pepper, to taste.
